The New Morning, the most reputed
jazz-club in France, located in Paris, welcomes each year the big
names in jazz. In 1998 Chick Corea and Jerry Gonzalez passed by,
just to name two of them. Dee Dee Bridgewater and Ella Fitzgerald do
also know this club.
The guests, about 200 to 300, are sitting around tables in front of
the, for a jazz-club large, scene and are taking their drinks (up to
50 FF for a beer) in jazzy authentic atmosphere. Music starts
playing at about 21.00, that's announced in the program, in fact the
music starts about 21.30 and goes until midnight.
The entry costs about 100 FF to 150 FF. To get a good place you have
to be there half an hour before the music begins, at about 20.30.
The New Morning is a good jazz-club often presenting great artists,
but everything has its price. Once you are in Paris and you like
Jazz, you will have to go to this club, else you will regret it.
